Cabbage rolls are a very tasty and easy-to-prepare dish of Russian cuisine. Also, it is no less popular far beyond the borders of our country. Many peoples have their own recipes for this food. As a rule, cabbage rolls are prepared from cabbage or young grape leaves. Let's try to cook traditional Russian-style cabbage rolls, but with the addition of bell pepper. This will add a special flavor to the dish.

- - small forks of cabbage - 800 g;
- - Bulgarian pepper - 0.5 kg;
- - any minced meat - 0.5 kg;
- - rice - 120 g;
- - onions (minced) - 3 pcs.;
- - onions (for frying) - 4 pcs.;
- - carrots - 1 pc.;
- - tomatoes - 4 pcs.;
- - vegetable oil;
- - ground black pepper;
- - salt;
- - a cauldron, a deep frying pan with a lid or a slow cooker.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the first two layers of leaves from the cabbage. Boil water. Put cabbage in it and cook for 10 minutes at medium heat. When the cabbage is cooked, cool it down.
Step 2
While the cabbage is cooling, prepare the filling. Rinse the rice under running water. Pass three onions through a meat grinder. They can also be chopped in a blender or grated. In a bowl, combine the minced meat, rice and chopped onions. Add black pepper and salt to taste. Mix everything together well.
Step 3
Remove the stalk from the bell pepper and remove the seeds from it. Carefully separate the leaves from the cabbage in order. If they have hard ribs, beat them lightly with a hammer to soften them. We begin to form cabbage rolls. Spread the minced meat on the cabbage leaf. Wrap the edges first, then roll up in a tube. Wrap it not very tightly so that during cooking, when the rice begins to swell, the stuffed cabbage does not break. Stuff the bell peppers with minced meat.
Step 4
Let's prepare vegetables for frying. Peel off four onions and carrots. Chop the onion in half rings, cut the carrots and tomatoes into small pieces.
Step 5
Heat a cauldron or deep frying pan and pour in vegetable oil. When the oil warms up well, add the onion and fry it well until light brown. The taste of the finished dish will depend on this. When the onions are browned, add the carrots. Cook for 5 minutes. Then add the tomatoes, stir, add salt to taste, black pepper and fry for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6
Once the frying is done, start stacking cabbage rolls and peppers on top in layers. Pepper the top layer a little, and then pour hot water so that it covers the cabbage rolls with pepper by 1-1.5 cm. Bring to a boil and reduce the temperature to medium. Simmer cabbage rolls with pepper for 30 minutes.
Step 7
Put the finished dish on plates. Pour broth on top and serve with sour cream and fresh salad.
