There are analogues of dumplings in China (wontola or jiaozi), Italy (ravioli), Belarus (sorcerers), Central Asia (manty, momo) and other countries. Basically, they are boiled in a large amount of salted water, but they can be cooked in another way - fried or baked in the oven.
