Step 1

One of the options for the lazy cabbage pie is French quiche. Meat, fish, seafood, poultry, vegetables can be used as a filling. The filling remains unchanged, making the cake tender and juicy, as well as the speed of cooking. The version with cabbage is low in calories - it is quite suitable for dietary nutrition.

Step 2

Prepare the shortbread dough. Sift flour into a deep bowl, add salt, sugar and butter, cut into pieces. Rub everything with your hands to make an oil crumb. Pour a couple of tablespoons of ice water into a bowl and knead the dough. Collect it in a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

After an hour, take out the dough and roll it into a round layer. Grease a refractory mold with oil and sprinkle with flour. Place the dough into the mold, making bumpers around the edges.

Make the filling. For lazy pie, use fresh cabbage. Remove the outer leaves, cut the stump, and chop the forks finely. Heat the butter in a skillet and simmer the cabbage a little to soften it. Season the cabbage with salt, ground black pepper and nutmeg.

Beat eggs in a separate bowl, add cream and a little salt. Stir everything well. Grate the cheese.

Bake the quiche until cooked - an appetizing crust should form on its surface. If the pie is not baked, but the top starts to burn, cover it with foil and move the quiche to the lower level of the oven.

Chill the finished lazy cabbage pie, cut into pieces and serve as one of the dishes for lunch or dinner. Serve any cream or tomato sauce separately. A glass of well-chilled white table wine can be served with cabbage pie.
