Pea puree contains many useful minerals that are necessary for the human body. Pea puree can be an independent main course on fasting days or a tasty and healthy side dish for meat. It goes well with chicken, pork, beef and rabbit. Only peas take a long time to cook, but a slow cooker will help to significantly reduce its cooking time.
Pea puree in a slow cooker
According to this recipe, it is very simple to make mashed dry peas, you do not need to add anything extra to the dish: fried onions will be enough.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups dry peas;
- 2 onions;
- 4 glasses of water;
- oil for frying;
- salt.
Peel the onions, chop them finely and fry them in sunflower oil: to do this, put the prepared onions in a multicooker bowl, pour oil on top and turn on the “Baking” mode for 30 minutes.
While the onions are cooking, tackle the peas. For mashed potatoes, a brain green or yellow variety is better. Rinse it under running water, place in a deep bowl and cover with water. The peas should swell a little before the onion is cooked.
Put the ready-made onion into a bowl, and put the peas in the multicooker bowl, fill it with cold water, cook in the "Steam cooking" mode. When the contents of the bowl come to a boil, set the "Stew" mode for 50 minutes.
Transfer the finished peas to a blender and beat until smooth, then immediately return them to the multicooker, add the prepared onions, salt to taste and cook for another half hour in the "Stew" mode.
Serve hot, or garnish with chopped fresh herbs on top.
Pea puree in a multicooker-pressure cooker
Dishes cooked in a multicooker-pressure cooker retain their useful properties. So the pea puree will turn out to be tender, tasty, nutritious and very aromatic.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of peas;
- 2 glasses of water;
- 1 carrot;
- 4 cloves of garlic;
- 3 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- dill, parsley, salt.
To make mashed potatoes in a multicooker-pressure cooker, it is advisable to rinse and soak peas in cold water overnight. If you did not have the opportunity to do this, then try to soak the washed peas in water for at least 3 hours.
Drain the water from the peas, rinse the cereals, put them in the multicooker bowl, fill them with cold boiled water. Put the multicooker on the "Stew" mode, cook the puree for about 40 minutes.
Peel the carrots, mince them with garlic and herbs, or chop them in a blender. Grind the finished peas with a blender and mix them with the vegetable mass. Season with salt and pepper to taste, you can add any aromatic spices, stir.
If the pea puree is too thick, you can dilute it with water and beat again with a blender. Serve as a main course or as a side dish.
