How to make apple marshmallow at home?

Real homemade apple candy is very healthy, as it contains many vitamins and minerals. To prepare it, you need ripe healthy fruits without wormholes and rot. After such are collected, they need to be washed, cut into slices, while removing the core. Then take a cast iron or a saucepan with a thick bottom, pour water into it so that it covers the bottom exactly one centimeter. You do not need to pour more, since during cooking, juice will be released from the apples, which will prevent them from burning.

After that, you need to continue cooking the apple marshmallow, for which the fruits are placed in a cast iron and sent to medium heat. You need to cook until the apples are completely softened. It usually takes 40-120 minutes, depending on the hardness of the fruit and their ripeness. You don't need to stir the apples. As soon as they are cooked, they must be taken out, cooled, rubbed through a sieve with fine meshes.

Then the natural apple marshmallow is prepared as follows: the resulting puree, wiped through a sieve, is laid out in an even layer on a cling film (baking paper or oilcloth), placed on a wide board and fixed on it. The layer thickness should be no more than 7 and no less than 4 mm. Too thin a layer in the future can lead to rupture of the pastille.

Place the puree board outdoors. Hot sunny days are considered the best for drying pastilles. However, even in windy cloudy weather, it dries up quickly enough. The main thing is that there is no rain. To prevent the marshmallow from damp, you need to bring it into the house at night. The readiness of a treat should be determined by its dryness and firmness. Just remember that the middle of the marshmallow always dries longer than its edges.

Dried apple marshmallow should be stored. To keep it fresh for as long as possible, it must be wrapped in cling film, after cutting it into small pieces.

A little practical advice

You can also dry apple marshmallow in an open oven. To do this, drain the juice from the boiled apples, rub them through a sieve, spread them on baking paper lying on a baking sheet, and send them to the oven preheated to 100 ° C. The finished treat will have a reddish tint.

Do not cook apple marshmallow in an enamel saucepan, as it will constantly burn in it. The treat dries much faster on paper than on film.
