Fried cheese is one of the national dishes of Czech cuisine. Anyone who has ever visited the Czech Republic and got used to real "greased" cheese, no doubt, will want to try this dish at home. Grilled cheese is a great beer snack, but it can also serve as a great breakfast.

It is necessary

    • Any hard cheese ("Russian"
    • "Edam"
    • "Gouda").
    • Breadcrumbs.
    • 2 eggs.
    • Flour.
    • Salt.
    • Vegetable oil.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the cheese into wide flat pieces 1-1.5 cm thick and about 7-8 cm sides. The amount of cheese is not regulated, but two large pieces are traditionally served in one serving.

Step 2

Combine the flour and salt in a bowl. It is also possible to add spices to taste. Then break two eggs into a deep bowl, beat them with a whisk or fork. Pour the breadcrumbs into the third plate. If you haven't found bread crumbs, it's easy to make them yourself - grind regular bread crumbs in a blender or coffee grinder and add saffron seasoning for the color.

Step 3

Dip each piece of cheese in flour, then dip it in the egg mass, then roll in breadcrumbs. This sequence must be repeated with each piece at least twice.

Step 4

Place prepared cheese slices on a plate and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

Pour vegetable oil into the skillet. There should be a lot of oil (a layer of at least 1 cm), since both flour and bread crumbs tend to absorb it. When the butter is hot, fry each piece of cheese for 1-2 minutes on each side over high heat (until golden brown). The stronger the fire, the faster the crust will set, respectively, the less cheese will flow into the pan.

Step 6

Serve immediately on warmed plates - never eat fried cheese while it is cold.
