During the summer season, during the berry harvest, dumplings with cherries are popular among lovers of sweets. Soft and juicy, drizzled with sour cherry sauce, they are eaten very quickly.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - 4 cups flour.
- - 1 glass of boiling water.
- - 150 g of butter.
- - 1 egg.
- - half a teaspoon of salt.
- For filling:
- - 4 glasses of cherries.
- - 5 table. tablespoons of sugar.
- - 2 table. spoons of starch.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the cherries, remove the seeds from it. Put in a container, cover with sugar and leave for a couple of hours. As soon as the cherry starts to juice, fold it over a sieve to drain all the juice.
Step 2
Prepare the dough. Boil water, add butter and salt to it. Bring the mixture to a boil, then carefully pour it into a bowl of sifted flour and mix well so that there are no lumps.
Step 3
Then quickly stir in the egg into the dough. If it gets too sticky, add a little more flour. The dough should be soft and smooth. Place it on a table and cover with plastic wrap to keep it from drying out.
Step 4
Add starch to the prepared cherries and mix. Do not remove from the sieve yet, as it will still produce juice. You can add some more sugar to the cherries because most of it drips with the juice. If you like a sour filling, then you can not add sugar.
Step 5
Cut the dough into 5 pieces. Roll each part into a thin layer. Use a glass to cut into circles. Place the filling (about 2-3 cherries) on each dough piece. Pinch the edges of the dumplings tightly.
Step 6
Place them on a floured board. Cook for 7 minutes in plenty of salted water. Serve ready-made dumplings with butter, sour cream or cherry sauce.
