Steamed dishes are very tasty and healthy. Unfortunately, we do not use this method of cooking very often, preferring microwaves and pans to it.

  • For the test:
  • 1 glass of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vegetable oil, 600 gr. wheat flour.
  • To prepare the filling we need:
  • 1 kg of sauerkraut, 2 tbsp. tablespoons of sunflower oil, 1 medium-sized onion, herbs, ground pepper at your discretion.

Step 1

Dough preparation method.

Sift the flour, pour it in a slide, salt, make a hole in the middle, pour oil and a little water into it and begin to knead. Add the remaining water during the mixing process. The dough should be smooth and fairly steep. Then we put the dough in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. We take the dough out of the refrigerator and knead for another 5 or 7 minutes, leave it in a bag on the table for another hour.

Step 2

Method for preparing the filling.

For the filling, take the onions, peel them and cut them very thinly. Put sauerkraut, chopped onions in a bowl, add ground black pepper and pour in sunflower oil. If desired, you can add greens and red ground pepper. Mix everything well.

Step 3

Divide our dough into 3 parts and roll out large, but very thin cakes. Spread 1/3 of the cabbage evenly on one flat cake and roll it up. We pinch the tails of the roll. Place the roll on a greased wire rack. We make two more such rolls. Steam for 35-40 minutes.

Remove the finished roll from the wire rack, put it on a beautiful dish, cut it into pieces, pour with sour cream and sprinkle with herbs. You can eat the roll with butter, mayonnaise or ketchup.
