Several food colors can be used to color the rice yellow. It can be both certain spices and vegetables. Several options for dyeing rice yellow are worth considering. Just keep in mind that almost all food colors will give the grains not only their color, but also their taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Carrot. Rinse and peel the carrots, pass through a juicer. 500 gr. rice, take 1 glass of carrot juice. Dilute the juice with 3 glasses of water and let it boil. Release the washed rice into the juice and cook over low heat until half cooked for 15 minutes. Then reduce the heat to low, pour 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the rice, salt, stir and cover, let the rice reach for another 10 minutes.
Step 2
Turmeric. 500 gr. rice, use a quarter teaspoon of turmeric. Dissolve the spice in boiling oil, pour rice into it. Stir well and add salt and 4 cups broth or hot water. Stir again and steam the rice under a tightly closed lid over low heat for 25-30 minutes. Use dishes for cooking with a thick bottom, do not open the lid, as rice is cooked mainly by steam.
Step 3
Saffron. 500 gr. rice 1 teaspoon saffron strands. Soak the saffron in half a glass of hot water for 10 minutes. Rinse the rice. Pour vegetable oil into a saucepan, when the oil boils, add rice and saffron, salt, add 4 cups of broth and cook as in the previous recipe.
