For those who are tired of standard potato dishes, they came up with a casserole. It can be with minced meat, cheese, sausage, chicken, tomatoes and even pickles! Today you will find a recipe for potato casserole with mushrooms and chicken. Cooking it is not difficult and not too long. The dish will spend most of the time in the oven while you do other household chores.

What do you need to make a potato casserole with mushrooms and chicken?

  • potatoes 6-8 pcs.;
  • chicken breast 1 pc.;
  • onions 1 pc.;
  • oyster mushrooms 150-200 g;
  • vegetable oil 50 ml.;
  • salt to taste;
  • seasoning for chicken to taste;
  • maasdam 100 g;
  • chicken egg 2 pcs.;
  • garlic 3-4 cloves;
  • mayonnaise 2 tbsp. l.;
  • ground black pepper to taste;
  • dill to taste.

How to cook potato casserole?

  1. Cut one onion into small cubes and fry in vegetable oil. While the onions are fried, peel the mushrooms and rinse them well, as there may be sand. Cut into cubes. Cut the chicken breast into small cubes or squares too.
  2. Add chicken fillet and oyster mushrooms to the onion and fry until tender. Season with salt and spices to taste. More careful with chicken seasoning, as it also contains salt. Don't overdo it.
  3. Peel and grate the potatoes.
  4. Also grate the cheese. Take half and combine with one egg, finely chopped garlic or crushed through a crusher (you need to take half), mayonnaise and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Combine remaining cheese and egg, two cloves of garlic and finely chopped dill in a separate bowl.
  6. Take a baking dish and place the fried oyster mushrooms with chicken and onions on the bottom. Top with potato cheese mixture, and then cheese mixture with dill.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and place in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees. Cook for 40 minutes. Then remove the foil and cook for another 15 minutes until a delicious crust forms.
