Donuts are delicious and quick baked goods that will not take long to prepare, even for a young housewife. With cinnamon, donuts, or, as they were called in the old days, crumpets, are spicy and very fragrant.
Preparation of food
To make cinnamon donuts you will need:
- 350 g wheat flour;
- 100 g brown sugar;
- 1 egg;
- 500 ml of vegetable oil;
- 100 ml of kefir;
- 20 g butter;
- 1 tsp baking powder;
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon;
- ½ tsp nutmeg;
- a pinch of salt.
Cooking cinnamon donuts
In a medium bowl, beat the brown sugar egg with a hand whisk. Continuing to beat, add the required amount of kefir at room temperature to the mixture. Next, add butter, melted in a water bath or low heat. Mix all ingredients well.
Combine flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a separate bowl. Stir the dry ingredients and add them to the egg, butter and kefir mixture. Knead the dough and roll it into a 0.5 centimeter thick layer.
Cut circles out of the dough, make small notches in the middle. Heat the butter in a saucepan and fry the donuts in it on both sides. Place the cinnamon donuts on a paper towel to remove excess oil. You can sprinkle the cakes with powdered sugar before serving.
