Many people are accustomed to making jam from one main ingredient, that is, for example, only from apples. Sometimes old recipes need to be changed and improved. I suggest you make apple jam with almonds.
It is necessary
- - apples - 2 kg;
- - sugar - 2 kg;
- - peeled almonds - 2 tablespoons;
- - grated zest of 3 lemons;
- - ginger root - 2 cm.
Instructions
Step 1
With apples, do this: peel and cut into slices, after removing the core. The ginger root should be finely chopped.
Step 2
Take a saucepan, put the sliced apple slices in it and cover them with sugar. Then put chopped ginger on the apples and do the same, that is, pour sugar on top. In other words, these products should be layered. Leave them in this state for 6 hours.
Step 3
After the required amount of time has passed, pour the mixture with 400 milliliters of water and put on fire. When it boils, cook it for another 5 minutes over low heat. Let the mass brew for 10-12 hours.
Step 4
After the time has passed, bring the jam to a boil and cook for another 15 minutes. When about 5 minutes remain until it is fully cooked, then add lemon zest to it.
Step 5
Chop the peeled almonds and fry in a pan without oil for 3 minutes. Then add it to the jam and mix everything thoroughly. It remains to put the mass in the jars and close them tightly. Apple jam with almonds is ready!
