Monastery-style meat is a hearty dish that does not require long preparation and specific products. Even an inexperienced housewife can handle cooking, and the finished dish can decorate not only an everyday lunch, but also a festive dinner.

It is necessary

    • 300-500 g of pork;
    • 300-500 g of potatoes;
    • 3-4 onions;
    • 5-6 pcs. sun-dried tomatoes;
    • 3-5 tbsp mayonnaise;
    • 1 tbsp vegetable oil for frying;
    • cheese;
    • butter for greasing the baking dish;
    • salt
    • pepper
    • spice.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the meat into steaks 2-3 cm thick. Beat gently on both sides. Mix a few tablespoons of herbal mayonnaise and ground pepper. Rub the steaks liberally on both sides. Set them aside on a separate plate so the meat is well saturated and juicy when baked.

Step 2

Peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices. Set aside in a deep plate. Season with salt and, adding a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise, mix.

Step 3

Cut the onion into half rings. Fry in hot sunflower or olive oil until golden brown.

Step 4

Cut the tomatoes into wedges. It is not recommended to add any spices, pepper and salt, since the spices have already been used in the drying process.

Step 5

Grease a baking dish with oil.

Step 6

Place the meat on the bottom of the mold. Spread the sautéed onions evenly over it, then the sun-dried tomatoes and potatoes. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and sprinkle evenly over the potatoes. If you are using two types of cheese - parmesan and cheddar - sprinkle with parmesan first, then cheddar.

Step 7

Cover the dish with foil and bake in an oven preheated to 150-180 ° C for 30-40 minutes. Remove the foil and let it bake for a few more minutes.

Step 8

Cut the finished meat into portions and serve hot in combination with a light salad of fresh vegetables.
