It is necessary
- (for one big house!)
- 220 g sugar
- 100 ml of water
- 50 g honey
- 200 g butter
- Spice mixture 1 tbsp (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon)
- 600 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Glaze:
- 400 g icing sugar
- 2 squirrels
- + I used dark chocolate
Instructions
Step 1
In a small ladle, combine spices, sugar and water. Put on low heat until sugar dissolves, then add butter, cut into pieces. Mix.
When the oil is dissolved, honey must be added.
Step 2
Sift flour with baking powder into a separate bowl, add "wet" to the dry mixture.
Just do not overdo it with flour, otherwise you will have to suffer with rolling the dough.
Step 3
It is better to roll out the dough on the work surface (table), but cut out parts of the house on a baking sheet so that everything turns out smoothly and beautifully. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 10 minutes. It is important to keep an eye on the gingerbread, otherwise even the strongest teeth will not bite them. As soon as the sides of the gingerbread are well browned, you need to take them out of the oven.
Step 4
In the meantime, the gingerbread is baked, you can do the icing.
You just need to melt the chocolate in a water bath and pour it either into a cornet or into a bag with a cut corner.
Step 5
And the icing is a little more difficult to prepare. Separate the yolks from the whites carefully. Beat the whites (with a fork!), Gradually adding the powdered sugar. Once you have a smooth white frosting, it's ready.
Step 6
And then the hardest part. We decorate ready-made gingerbread.
It is clear that everyone can decorate as they like. But remember that there should still be enough glaze to glue the parts together.
First, we coat the sides of the walls of the house well, connect them. For stability, you can prop the gingerbread cookies with cups.
Step 7
As soon as the walls "grabbed" a little, add a roof to the structure. Carefully! It is heavy.
