Focaccia is a traditional Italian flatbread made from wheat flour. It has no traditional shape or filling - it can be cooked with cheese, herbs, garlic, tomatoes and other ingredients. Focaccia is served as a snack or instead of bread, but always with olive oil.
It is necessary
- - 700 g flour;
- - 1, 5 tsp dry yeast;
- - 350 ml of warm water;
- - 1, 5 teaspoons of salt;
- - 1, 5 teaspoons of sugar;
- - a pinch of dried basil, oregano and rosemary;
- - 3-4 cherry tomatoes;
- - ½ red onion;
- - 150 ml of olive oil.
Instructions
Step 1
Sift the flour directly onto the table and make a depression inside the slide. Pour olive oil and yeast diluted in warm water into it. Add sugar, salt and knead a not too stiff dough. Cover it with a towel and leave in a warm place for half an hour.
Step 2
Roll the finished dough into several large circles 0.5 cm thick. Put them on a baking sheet greased with olive oil. Also grease the surface of the cakes with oil and make punctures with a fork in several places.
Step 3
Sprinkle the tortillas with thinly sliced half rings of red onions, slices of cherry tomatoes and dried herbs. Place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C and bake for no more than 15 minutes. Cut the finished focaccia like a pizza and serve with olive oil.
