If you like to study the cuisine of foreign nations, then you should pay attention to the dishes of Northern Europe. In Sweden, for example, meatballs are a traditional dish, which is prepared in almost every home. And there they are made in a special way, which is somewhat different from ours. It is not difficult to prepare such meatballs, and you can choose any side dish to your taste.
It is necessary
- - minced meat (it is best to take pork and beef) - 500 g;
- - onions - 2 pcs.;
- - chicken egg - 1 pc.;
- - bread crumbs - 2 tbsp. l. or crumbs 1 slice of bread;
- - milk - 50 ml;
- - beef or chicken broth - 300 ml;
- - cream with a fat content of 20% - 200 ml;
- - flour - 1 tbsp. l. without a slide;
- - butter - 180 g (1 pack).
- - ground white pepper - on the tip of a knife (can be replaced with black);
- - sugar - 0.5 tsp;
- - salt;
- - frying pan.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the onions and chop them into small cubes. Heat a frying pan and melt 50 g of butter in it. Then pour in the chopped onion and fry until transparent.
Step 2
Pour the milk into a small bowl and add the breadcrumbs to soak well. Or put a slice of bread and let it sit in milk for 2-3 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the minced meat to the bowl, add the sautéed onions, softened crackers or bread that needs to be broken into small pieces. And also a chicken egg, ground pepper and salt to taste. Mix everything together until smooth.
Step 4
Now form the meatballs from the resulting meat mass into balls with a diameter of about 4-5 cm. After that, melt the remaining butter in a pan and fry the meatballs on it. They need to be turned over several times so that an appetizing golden brown crust forms on all sides.
Step 5
When the meatballs are ready, transfer them to a separate dish or saucepan. Now we will prepare the sauce for them. In the same pan, without washing it, pour in the broth, cream and add flour. Bring the mass to thickening, stirring all the time, so that not a single flour lump remains. Add ground pepper and salt at the end.
Step 6
Before serving, arrange the meatballs in portions, pouring them with a creamy sauce. As a side dish for such a dish, mashed potatoes, rice or pasta are the best suited.
