For the preparation of hibiscus, petals and flowers of the hibiscus plant are used. It is also called the Chinese or Sudanese rose. In principle, hibiscus is not tea at all, since it is prepared from flowers, not leaves of a plant, but we are used to calling everything that is brewed tea.

There are three well-known methods of brewing a drink:

- hot. In this case, 2 teaspoons of tea leaves are poured into 0.3 liters of boiling water and infused for about 5 minutes, then filtered and poured into cups;

- cold. Also, 2 tablespoons of tea leaves are poured into a container, poured with cold water, but insisted for longer, about 3 hours;

- cooking, not to be confused with boiling. Hibiscus is poured into a heat-resistant dish, poured with cold water and heated for 3-5 minutes, not allowing the water to boil.

The fact that cold hibiscus quenches thirst is known to many, but the fact that hot drink is perfectly warmed is a little known fact;

Thanks to the huge amount of vitamin C, the drink has a preventive and immunostimulating effect on the body, relieves symptoms of colds, accelerates recovery;

The hibiscus contains 13 amino acids that are necessary for the body, but it cannot synthesize them on its own;

The antioxidants that make up the hibiscus help to remove carcinogens from the body, which means they serve as the prevention of cancer;

Hibiscus tea has a beneficial effect on the liver and pancreas, promotes the production of bile and the removal of alcoholic and medicinal toxins and heavy metal salts from the body;

Improves bowel function, helps fight constipation;

It is useful for hypertensive patients, as it reduces blood pressure and removes excess cholesterol from the blood.

Hibiscus is not recommended for people with diseases of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, as it increases the secretion of gastric juice and increases acidity. Hypotension is also a contraindication to frequent drinking.
