We offer you a recipe for a simple herring salad with the addition of potatoes and an apple. Of course, such a simple salad is not suitable for a festive table, but this is the very thing for an everyday menu.
It is necessary
- For four servings:
- - 250 g of herring;
- - 3 eggs;
- - 2 potatoes;
- - 1 sour apple;
- - 1 onion;
- - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of vinegar, sour cream or mayonnaise;
- - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of sweet mustard;
- - pepper, salt.
Instructions
Step 1
The total cooking time for this herring salad is 30 minutes - 20 minutes is spent on preparation, for the preparation itself - 10 minutes.
Step 2
Pre-boil the potatoes in their uniforms, cool, peel, cut into small even cubes. Boil eggs hard-boiled, cool under ice water, peel. Peel the onion, chop finely and finely, but if you like onions, you can also cut them into half rings - this way you will better feel its taste in the salad. Pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar over the onion, set aside.
Step 3
Take a herring fillet, cut it into cubes. Peel the sour apple, remove the core with seeds, cut into small cubes. Then you can mix the apple with the prepared herring and potatoes. Drain the vinegar from the onion, add it to our salad.
Step 4
Grate the eggs on a coarse grater, add to the rest of the salad ingredients, mix. Mix mustard separately with sour cream or mayonnaise. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste, season with mustard and sour cream, mix thoroughly. Before serving, you can sprinkle the prepared simple salad with herring with finely chopped fresh herbs - parsley, dill, green onions or basil.
