Armenian lavash can rightfully be called a culinary masterpiece. It is not only served with many meat dishes and snacks are made with it, but it also replaces the dough for pies and rolls. Lavash is perfectly steamed and baked in the oven. If you want to taste baked goods with meat, why not take advantage of these wonderful properties of pita bread and replace it with traditional dough? The result will be a very tasty and quick meal that does not require almost any special effort.
It is necessary
- - lavash - 4 pcs. (400 g);
- - minced pork and beef - 400 g;
- - small onions - 3 pcs.;
- - small carrots - 1 pc. (it is possible without it);
- - green onions - 0.5 bunch;
- - chicken egg - 1 pc.;
- - kefir - 1 glass (250 ml)
- - hard cheese - 200 g;
- - sunflower oil;
- - ground black pepper;
- - salt;
- - frying pan, baking dish.
Instructions
Step 1
Heat the sunflower oil (3-4 tablespoons) in a frying pan and add the minced meat. While stirring, fry it until light brown.
Step 2
Peel the onions and chop them into small cubes. If you like carrots in meat dishes, you can add them as well. To do this, remove the peel from it and grate it. And then transfer the chopped onions and carrots to the minced meat in the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes until the meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Add black pepper and salt at the end.
Step 3
Now remove the pan from the stove and cool the minced meat. Meanwhile, break the chicken egg into a separate small bowl and beat. Pour in kefir and stir until smooth.
Step 4
Grate the hard cheese and mix it with the minced meat, which should have cooled slightly by this time. Rinse, dry and chop green onions. After that, pour it over to the minced meat and cheese, and then mix everything together well.
Step 5
Now is the time to shape the cake. Grease a baking dish with any oil. Take one pita bread and cover the bottom of the mold with it. The edges will hang down. This is as it should be - we will wrap the workpiece with them. Next, take the next pita bread and put it in the mold too.
Step 6
Then spread half of the minced meat evenly. Then take the third pita bread and tear (or cut) it into 10-12 pieces. Roll each of them into a lump and dip in the egg-kefir mass, and then place them on top of the minced meat.
Step 7
When the pita layer is finished, put the remaining minced meat on top of it. And then take the last pita bread, lay it on top and tuck the edges so that they do not hang down. Lubricate it with sunflower oil on top and pour half of the remaining egg-kefir mass on it. At the end, carefully wrap all the other edges and grease the top of the workpiece with sunflower oil. Pour the rest of the kefir mass over the top and send the blank into an oven preheated to 220 degrees for 20 minutes.
Step 8
When the pita bread acquires a beautiful slightly crispy brown crust, the pie can be taken out of the oven, cut into portions and served.
