In order to make lemon waffles with poppy seeds, you will need: 2 cups of wheat flour, 200 ml of kefir, 2 chicken eggs, 200 g of granulated sugar, 120 g of butter, 1 lemon, 2 tbsp. l. poppy seeds, 10 g baking powder.

Cooking lemon waffles

Prepare a waffle iron in advance for baking. Next, take chicken eggs and granulated sugar, beat the ingredients into a fluffy foam. Pour the required amount of kefir into the egg mixture, and also add butter (it should be softened). Stir the food until smooth.

Grate the lemon zest and squeeze the juice out of the fruit. Now add 2 tablespoons of squeezed lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of lemon zest to the creamy mixture. Also add the poppy. Stir in the sifted flour very carefully and add baking powder. Stir the dough well, it should be thick and viscous.

Heat the waffle iron, then put 2-3 tablespoons of the resulting dough on one panel of the appliance. There is no need to grease the waffle iron, as a large amount of butter has been added to the dough. Bake lemon waffles for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Cool the finished waffles with poppy seeds on a wire rack, and then place in a stack.
