It is necessary

    • 1.5-2 kg;
    • salted lard
    • 100g;
    • vegetable oil;
    • carrot

    • boiling water;
    • sour cream
    • 0.5 kg;
    • apples
    • 2 pcs.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the rabbit into small portions. Cut the ribs separately, divide the legs by the joints. The entrails can be cooked with the meat, especially if there is only one rabbit. Leave the liver, heart as it is, without slicing. If the rabbit is not the first youth, you can soak the meat for half an hour in a weak solution of vinegar or lemon juice.

Step 2

Set a cauldron or a large heavy-bottomed skillet over the fire and add some vegetable oil. Cut the salted bacon into thin slices and put it in the heated oil.

Step 3

Melt the fat out of the bacon, being careful not to burn. Lard is necessary in order to make the dish more juicy, but if you are on a diet, it is better to do without it.

Step 4

Put the rabbit meat in a cauldron and wait a few minutes without stirring. The rabbit will be stewed in a cauldron in fat and its own juice for about 15 minutes, do not forget to stir it from time to time.

Step 5

Cut the carrots into large strips and the onions into cubes. The more onions there are, the tastier the dish will turn out. For one rabbit, take two to three carrots and at least three large onions. Peel and core the apples, cut them into thin slices. Chop the garlic and herbs.

Step 6

When the rabbit meat is covered with a fried crust, add the onion to the cauldron and simmer for 15 minutes. Then lay out the carrots and let sit for another 10 minutes. Pour boiling water from a kettle on the rabbit with vegetables so that it only disappears under the water.

Step 7

Let the dish simmer for a few minutes and add 0.5 kg sour cream. Simmer the rabbit for another 15-20 minutes, at the end add apples, garlic and herbs, salt and pepper to taste. Remove the cauldron from the heat and let the rabbit brew and cool a little.

As a side dish, you can use any porridge or puree. But if you are not afraid of extra calories - fry potatoes in lard, the dish will be simply divine.
