Pumpkin is a very healthy and tasty vegetable. During the period when autumn gives its gifts, you can cook millet porridge in a pumpkin. Not only is this porridge very tasty, an interesting serving will decorate the dining table with dignity.
Ingredients:
- Medium pumpkin - 1 pc;
- Millet - about 2 glasses, depending on the size of the pumpkin;
- Water - 300 ml;
- Sugar and salt;
- Milk - 1 glass;
- Butter - 1/3 pack;
- Sweet apple - 1 pc;
- Honey - 1 tablespoon.
Preparation:
- Sort out the debris and rinse the millet groats under running water. Millet can be mixed with rice groats in a one-to-one ratio. Pour the washed cereal with cold water, boil and cook over medium heat until the water evaporates. After that, pour milk into the semi-prepared cereal and bring to a boil. Set aside the millet and add sugar and salt to the porridge to taste. Mix the porridge well.
- Rinse the pumpkin under water and cut off the top, it will serve as a lid. Remove the seeds from the pumpkin and cut out the pulp, creating a depression, leaving the walls no thinner than two centimeters. Cut the cut flesh into small cubes or grate on a coarse grater. Put the chopped pumpkin pulp to the millet porridge.
- Peel the apple, cut into 2 parts and remove the seeds. Grate the apple and add to the porridge, mix all the ingredients. Put the porridge in a pumpkin pot and put in a preheated oven. Ten minutes before cooking, add butter and honey to the porridge. When the cereal is well boiled, mix the porridge with melted butter and honey.
Serve the porridge hot, putting it on the table right in the pumpkin, and arrange the aromatic porridge from the pumpkin on plates. Top the porridge can be garnished with fresh berries.
