After washing, they are cut lengthwise and the seed part is taken out with a spoon. You don't have to do this, but then the sauce will be more liquid. Cucumbers are coarsely grated and salted. Letting them stand for 15 minutes, the resulting juice is drained. Put yogurt in the same bowl. Chopped garlic, salt and pepper are added to the mixture to taste and mixed thoroughly. Greek sauce always contains dill, but many believe that it tastes much better without herbs.

At the last stage, lightly sprinkle the prepared mixture with lemon juice (by no means vinegar!) And add a little olive oil. You can sprinkle the sauce with oil, but do not add more than one tablespoon, otherwise it will become "heavy". Having finally mixed, the culinary masterpiece can be considered ready. The container is tightly closed and placed in the refrigerator for an hour and a half. Chilled Greek sauce tastes much better. It can be added that it is low in calories, so dieters and supporters of a healthy diet can safely include it in their menu.
