In the summer, preparations for the winter begin. Strawberry jam is very popular. Its taste is reminiscent of warm summer days.
It is necessary
- - strawberries 2 kg;
- - sugar 1 kg;
- - water 0.5 cups.
Instructions
Step 1
For strawberry jam, use a small, ripe strawberry. Remove the stalks, wash the berries under running water and strain on a sieve. Then place the strawberries in a bowl.
Step 2
In another bowl, boil the syrup: add 0.5 cups of water to 1 kg of sugar and put on medium heat. Boil the syrup for 5-7 minutes until it is thick but not white. Checking it out is easy enough. To do this, take a little syrup with a spoon and blow it lightly on it, if the syrup has become viscous and almost frozen, then it is ready.
Step 3
Now pour the hot syrup over the strawberries, cover them with a lid and let cool. Strawberries give up their juice at this time, and the syrup becomes liquid. Then strain the cooled strawberries through a sieve, and put the strained juice to boil for 5-7 minutes. Put the strawberries back in the bowl and pour over the boiled hot syrup. Allow to cool completely again. And repeat this procedure again. If you want the syrup to be thick, add more sugar and boil well.
Step 4
After the third such procedure, put the strawberry berries in sterile jars and cover with boiling syrup, roll up the lids and put them in a blanket.
