Cabbage rolls originally appeared in the Turkish culinary tradition, and then the dish became popular in Ukrainian, Belarusian and Lithuanian cuisine. Every housewife knows the recipe for traditional cabbage rolls, but meat wrapped in cabbage leaves can be cooked under an original "fur coat".

It is necessary

  • - fresh cabbage (1 medium head of cabbage);
  • - minced meat (130 g);
  • –Rice (40 g);
  • - half the head of an onion;
  • –Carrot (1 pc.);
  • –Tomatoes (2 pcs.);
  • -garlic;
  • –Oregano (2 g);
  • - cheese (130 g);
  • -salt;
  • - olive oil (0.5 tbsp);
  • –Mayonnaise (35 g).

Instructions

Step 1

Take the cabbage, carefully examine the head of cabbage. Remove withered and damaged leaves, and then put the head of cabbage in the microwave for a few minutes. After this heat treatment, it will be easier for you to separate the cabbage leaves.

Step 2

Chop the onions, carrots and cook the rice over low heat. Mix the cooled ingredients with the minced meat, salt. You should have a homogeneous mass that will serve as a filling for stuffed cabbage.

Step 3

Prepare the "fur coat" separately. To do this, you need to grate the cheese and chop the tomatoes finely, and then add the garlic, mayonnaise and oregano. Get in the way. The "fur coat" should be of medium thickness, so that it is more convenient for you to distribute the mass on the baking sheet.

Step 4

Take a cabbage leaf, flatten on a cutting board. Put the minced meat on the edge of the sheet, wrap it once, and then close the sides. Next, roll the minced meat on the cabbage leaf again. Grease a baking sheet with oil and place the cabbage rolls so that the edge of the cabbage leaf is on the bottom side. So the stuffed cabbage will not fall apart when cooking.

Step 5

Pour the "fur coat" evenly on top and place in the oven. When you smell a pleasant smell of meat, you can take out the dish.
