Chokeberry is just a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. It has an unusual taste and its usefulness is difficult to exaggerate. And also from this wonderful berry, you can very easily make an excellent compote.
- About 1/2 liter of ripe chokeberries
- About 1/2 liter of sugar
- Plain water - about 2.5-3 liters
- A can and a special iron lid, as well as a seaming machine
1. Fresh and ripe chokeberry berries must be washed.
2. Place the washed rowan berries in a prepared jar.
3. Put the water to boil over high heat.
4. Pour the berries in a jar with boiling water, cover and let stand for 5 or 6 minutes.
5. Then pour the water back into the saucepan, add sugar, mix well and bring to a boil again.
6. Pour chokeberry berries with sweet boiling water (the water should reach the neck of the jar).
7. Roll up the compote with a metal lid and remove the wrapped jar to cool (bottom up).
As soon as the jar has cooled down to the end, a tasty and healthy mountain ash compote will be ready. It has a beautiful color and tart taste that will delight you in winter.
