Forshmak is considered a dish from East Prussian cuisine, which was a hot appetizer made from fried herring. But forshmak was borrowed by Jewish cuisine, where it was transformed and became a cold appetizer of minced fish. Nowadays, forshmak is prepared in various ways, but the result is always delicious!
It is necessary
- - cod fillet 300 g
- - 1/2 head onions
- - feta cheese 150 g
- - sour cream 4 tbsp. spoons
- - vegetable oil 2 tbsp. spoons
- - salt
Instructions
Step 1
Simmer the cod fillet in a little salted water (1/2 cup).
Step 2
Cut the cheese into pieces and mash thoroughly with a fork.
Step 3
Cut the onion into small cubes and fry in vegetable oil.
Step 4
Pass the fish, feta cheese and onion twice through a meat grinder, add sour cream, salt and mix thoroughly. Put the resulting mass in a mold, decorate with herbs and refrigerate.
Step 5
When serving, forshmak is cut into small portions or spread on bread as a paste. Bon Appetit!
