When the time for harvesting begins, many housewives face the question of what to do with last year's jam, which is often candied from long storage. Of course, you should not throw it away, because in addition to a variety of compotes, you can make homemade wine from jam - light, aromatic, with a pleasant aftertaste of your favorite fruits and berries.

It is necessary

  • - 1 liter of berry or fruit jam;
  • - 3 liters of water;
  • - 110 g of raisins.

Instructions

Step 1

Before you start making homemade wine from old jam, you need to prepare the container. Take a glass jar or enamel pot and wash it with baking soda, then rinse it several times under running water. Pour boiling water over clean dishes.

Step 2

Pour water into a separate saucepan and put it on fire. Transfer homemade jam to a prepared container and add washed raisins to it. When the water starts to boil, remove it from the stove and leave to cool to room temperature. Pour the cooled water into a bottle of jam and use a wooden spoon to mix the contents of the bottle.

Step 3

Close the bottle with a lid and put it in a dark place so that the contents of the container begin to ferment. In the summer, you can leave the bottle in the kitchen, and in the winter, put it under the battery.

Step 4

When the bottle has been in a warm place for 10 days, open the lid and carefully remove the pulp from the surface of the liquid. Transfer the pulp to cheesecloth and strain it, draining the liquid into a separate bowl. The remaining cake can be discarded.

Step 5

Also strain the liquid that remains in the jar through cheesecloth and combine with the one that remains after filtering the mash. Pour the resulting wort into a thoroughly washed jar, on the neck of which put on a rubber glove.

Step 6

Leave the jar of wort for 40 days to ferment. Wait until the wine from the jam becomes transparent, and the inflated glove drops down. Pour the young wine from the jam into glass bottles, being careful not to touch the sediment left after re-fermentation. Cork the bottles and store in a cool, dark place. About 2 months after bottling, the homemade jam wine will be ready to drink.
