“Tarhun” is a popular lemonade in Russia with a characteristic herbal taste and green color. You can also make it at home using a recipe based on natural ingredients.
It is necessary
- - 40 g of tarragon or tarragon;
- - 2 lemons;
- - lime;
- - 300 g of sugar;
- - 1.5 liters of sparkling water;
- - mint.
Instructions
Step 1
Take the right amount of fresh tarragon and rinse it thoroughly in running water. Alternatively, you can use tarragon: the drink will taste the same. Chop the herbs with a sharp knife. You can pass it through a blender, turning it into a green gruel, but in this case, the drink will lose a large proportion of the healing juice. If you do decide to chop the grass, be sure to rinse the container with water and collect any remaining liquid that you will need in the future.
Step 2
Wash and dry the lime and two lemons, then cut them in half across. Use a juicer to make fruit juice from citrus fruits. Cook the sugar syrup by adding 300 g of sugar to the pan with water or liquid left after washing the blender. Cool the syrup to room temperature and add fresh citrus juice to it.
Step 3
Pour 1.5 liters of sparkling water into a 2 liter plastic bottle, and place the crushed tarragon in the remaining space. Add the syrup and juice mixture. Screw the cap back on as tightly as possible and place the bottle in a cool, dark place for 2-3 hours. Strain the lemonade through cheesecloth and a strainer, after which it can be served. Add a couple of drops of chicory or brown sugar to the drink for a pleasant tea color. Don't stir it if you want to make it highly carbonated.
Step 4
Use an additional method of preparing a refreshing drink without using a carbonated liquid, but based on a decoction of plain drinking water. Cook the syrup using 1.5 cups of sugar and 1.5 liters of liquid. Drain the remaining water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Step 5
Cut the lime and two lemons into 2 cm slices. Chop 40 g, mix with the cut off ends of lime and lemon, place everything in hot but not boiling water. Insist the contents of the pan, tightly closing it with a lid, in a warm place for 2-3 hours.
Step 6
Cut the leftover lime and lemons into thin beautiful slices. Strain the cooled infusion through a sieve and cheesecloth and mix with sugar syrup. Place citrus wedges in it. Pour lemonade into glasses and serve. To enhance the taste and aroma, you can add a few mint leaves. The drink obtained by this method will turn out to be non-carbonated, but more useful and brighter in taste. Chilled, it is able to quench thirst well and delight the whole family in the hot summer.
