Classic lemonade is not a sweet carbonated drink familiar to many. By the way, it is a bad thirst quencher. According to old recipes, real lemonade must contain, if not fresh lemon, then at least freshly squeezed juice of this fruit.
It is necessary
Syrup Lemonade: - 1 cup sugar - 1 cup of water; - 1 large lemon; - from 200 to 500 ml of water; - ice. Italian lemonade: - 2 glasses of sugar; - 1 glass of water; - 100 g fresh basil; - 15 lemons; - 1 liter of water. Economical lemonade: - 4 lemons; - 150 g of sugar; - 200 g of ice; - 1 liter of water
Instructions
Step 1
Syrup Lemonade Prepare a non-thick sugar syrup. In a saucepan or ladle, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, let the sugar dissolve completely, and remove from heat. This amount of syrup is enough for a few servings of lemonade. Store it in the refrigerator in a closed container.
Step 2
Use a juicer to squeeze the juice out of the lemon. Combine the syrup, lemon juice, and up to half a liter of cold boiled or bottled water. The amount of water depends on how sweet and intense you want the drink to be. Add crushed ice to the lemonade, garnish with a sprig of mint, a slice of lemon or lime and serve.
Step 3
Italian Lemonade Make a flavored syrup. Wash the basil and put it in a saucepan, cover with water, add granulated sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, until all the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is clear. Turn off and remove the pot from the stove. Pass the syrup through a sieve to remove the basil. Let cool and refrigerate.
Step 4
Squeeze lemons. It is better to do this with a juicer, since you will lose a lot of juice by hand, and you need to collect about 2 glasses. Combine the chilled syrup, lemon juice, and water in a jug. You can take soda water or siphon the drink if you are more comfortable with gassed lemonade.
Step 5
Lean Lemonade If you don't have a juicer and don't have the strength to squeeze out enough juice, if you feel sorry for the pulp and rind of lemon, try making lemonade with a blender or food processor.
Step 6
Cut the lemons into wedges or quarters, add half the sugar, ice and half the water. Pulse and strain through a sieve. Add the remaining sugar, ice and water to the lemon pulp, pulse again and filter again. Serve with ice and mint.
