Cold, smelling of bread and playing with bubbles, kvass is the perfect drink for a hot summer. We offer you to make kvass on apple juice - it turns out to be no less tasty than kvass cooked on bread.
It is necessary
- - 3 liters of boiled warm water;
- - 1 liter of clarified apple juice;
- - 1 cup of sugar;
- - 2 teaspoons of instant coffee;
- - 1 teaspoon dry yeast.
Instructions
Step 1
First, bring three liters of water to a boil and cool until warm.
Step 2
Take a large container (for example, a jar or saucepan), pour sugar, instant coffee and dry yeast into it.
Step 3
Pour boiled water into a container with dry ingredients. Pour clarified apple juice there (you can take a purchased one). Stir well to dissolve all ingredients. Close the jar or saucepan with a lid, leaving a small hole and leave the kvass to ferment at room temperature for at least 12 hours.
Step 4
It is better to leave the kvass for fermentation overnight, in order to move on to the last stage of making apple kvass in the morning. Strain the kvass through a thick cloth or cheesecloth folded more tightly. Put the drink in the refrigerator.
Step 5
It is better to serve apple kvass chilled - on a hot day it perfectly quenches thirst and refreshes. And what a pleasant apple taste with a coffee aroma!
