This foamy drink has a thousand-year history. Even the ancient Egyptians prepared it according to 70 recipes! Today, store shelves are full of bottles with beer of various sizes and colors, how can you choose a truly tasty and healthy drink among them?

Today there is even a science that studies the beneficial properties of beer - gambrinotherapy. Of course, only a real, high-quality drink can be used for beer treatment, although such requirements should apply to any beer, not just the one that is used for treatment.

Sorts and types of beer

There are several varieties and types of beer. The most common is Lager, a bottom-fermented beer, while Pilsner is a clear Czech beer with a golden hue. Ale (Ale) - traditional Irish and English beer, which has a large strength and thick consistency. Lambic is a Belgian beer that does not contain malt, but whey with fruit additives. Someone apart from these types is Live beer, which was named so because it has a very short shelf life - 2-3 days. Real live beer can only be tasted in specialized restaurants and factory breweries.

Beer also differs in color. Pale is obtained from lightly toasted malt, with the addition of wheat, rice and corn powder. For the production of dark, they take well-roasted malt, sometimes even smoked and burnt sugar. As for filtered and unfiltered beer, unfiltered hop drink has the richest taste and a large amount of useful substances.

How to choose

Having decided on the type and color of beer, you should pay attention to its strength, that is, the amount of alcohol in percentage terms. It is impossible to predict exactly how much alcohol will be in a given batch of beer, therefore honest producers indicate this information along with the production date. The second indicator, depending on the first, is the density of the drink. The higher the degree, the greater the density. If the drink has a high percentage of alcohol and low density, then we are talking about an ordinary "ruff". Next, you should familiarize yourself with the composition of the drink on the label: the less all kinds of additives and preservatives in the drink, the better. An ideal lager should consist of hops, malt, brewer's yeast and water.

A high-quality drink cannot be bottled in light-colored glass bottles, as well as in plastic bottles and cans. You can buy real beer on tap, although you can check the presence or absence of foreign odors, turbidity, foam stability and taste only upon receipt. A quality drink should have a full, non-watery taste and a hint of hop bitterness - light, capable of passing quickly.

It is difficult to name the best beer producers, each of them has their own preferences. However, the first lines in the ratings are invariably occupied by Belgium, Germany and the USA. The Scottish beer Arran and Belhaven, the Japanese Asahi and Sapporo, the Irish Guinness and the Belgian Stella Artois are very popular.
