Many people love hibiscus. Some for its taste, some for its beneficial properties. However, few know how to brew it correctly. Meanwhile, its taste, and in some cases its usefulness for the entire human body, directly depends on the correct brewing of this tea.
Hibiscus brewing principles
In order to ultimately get the most delicious drink, adhere to some principles when brewing hibiscus.
1. Take the tea leaves where the hibiscus petals are not powdered, but dried whole. If you cannot find whole hibiscus petals, look for the tea leaves where they will be dried in large parts.
2. When choosing the amount of infusion, be guided by 1.5 teaspoon of petals per glass of water. If you like tea stronger or weaker, then try experimenting with the number of petals to brew.
3. For brewing hibiscus, it is better to take a ceramic or glass teapot. Do not use metal utensils as metal will adversely affect the color and taste of the final beverage. To cook the hibiscus over the fire, use an enamel cookware. If this is not possible, then cook in a water bath.
4. The taste of this drink depends on its strength. Hibiscus can be eaten cold or hot, with or without sugar - it all depends on the tastes.
