Charlotte can be prepared with any berries or fruits, although it used to be made with white bread, apples, custard, and sometimes liqueur. Many charlotte lovers believe that it is most delicious when filled with simple sour apples.
For the simplest version of charlotte, the apples are cut thinner, they are lined with the bottom of the baking dish, the pre-prepared dough is poured on top and everything is placed in the oven.
For the dough, you will need four eggs, one glass each of flour and sugar. You need to bake charlotte for about half an hour.
To make the charlotte more airy, the dough must be prepared like this. Beat the whites with one half of the sugar, mash the yolks with the rest. Combine everything, add flour. Add salt, soda, slaked with vinegar to taste. But you can do without them.
Peel the apples, remove seeds and partitions, cut into slices or cubes. If you want the apple pieces to spread throughout the whole cake, just pour them into the dough, stir and pour into the mold with the dough. Previously, the bottom of the form should be smeared with oil or sprinkled with semolina.
Place the charlotte in an oven heated to 180 degrees. It will take about 30-40 minutes to bake.
You can also put pears, peaches, plums in the dough. You just need to take into account that, for example, berries can produce a lot of juice, and plums should not be used in the same amount as apples, since the finished cake may be too sour.
