Syrup is a very useful and necessary ingredient for preparing and decorating many dishes, so every housewife should be able to cook it on her own, especially since homemade syrup turns out to be very tasty.
It is necessary
- -sugar - 130 g
- -water - 120 ml
- - fresh berries, rum, fruit juices (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Instructions
Step 1
Take a small saucepan. It is best to use non-stick aluminum or stainless steel pots so that the sugar does not burn and you do not have to worry about washing the pan after making the syrup. A saucepan with a volume of 0.5-1 liters is ideal.
Step 2
Pour sugar into a saucepan and cover with water. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is dissolved in water as much as possible. Do not use too cold or too warm water - it is better to use boiled water at room temperature.
Step 3
Put the resulting mixture on fire. Stir until the water boils. Once the water has boiled, remove the pan from the heat and check to see if the sugar has dissolved. If not, let the liquid cool slightly and bring it to a boil again, stirring throughout the process. You do not need to boil the syrup, this will make it thicker than expected. Once you see that the sugar has completely dissolved, you can finally remove the syrup from the heat.
Step 4
Cool the resulting liquid to human body temperature. To do this, put the saucepan in a cool place. Once it has cooled down enough, you can move it to the refrigerator to cool down as quickly as possible.
Step 5
Add a flavoring agent such as black currant to the syrup. To do this, take fresh black currants, cover with sugar, add a little water and put on fire. Cook for no more than 20 minutes, otherwise the berries will soften too much and it will be difficult to remove the liquid. Once you remove the currants from the heat, strain the mixture and add the currant juice to your syrup. Make sure that the syrup does not become too runny by controlling the amount of flavor added. You can use any berries or buy ready-made juices.
