The classic burger is a chopped cutlet placed between two halves of a bun. The burger was invented by Americans at the beginning of the 19th century. Its advantage is that any filling-filler can be made based on taste preferences and the availability of products in the refrigerator. But first, it's worth learning the recipe for a classic American burger.
It is necessary
-
- Burger buns - 6-8 pcs;
- beef - 500 g;
- onions - 2 pcs;
- tomatoes - 2 pcs;
- lettuce leaves;
- pickles;
- mustard;
- mayonnaise or Thousand Island sauce.
Instructions
Step 1
Burger buns are available at the store. You will need to carefully cut it lengthwise to form two semicircular halves. Lightly fry each half on the flat side. This can be done in a regular skillet by adding a little oil to it. Do not fry the buns for a long time, you do not need to wait even for a golden crust, the surface should only grasp a little.
Step 2
Prepare the burger itself yourself. Make minced beef and onions by turning them through a meat grinder, add salt and pepper to taste, beat an egg into the minced meat, mix everything and form cutlets. They should be flat, no more than 1 cm thick, and slightly larger than the bun in diameter. There are special ring shapes for burgers on sale, but it is possible to mold them yourself.
Step 3
You can fry patties in a skillet, but real American burger patties are grilled. If you can, great. If not, don't be upset, your hamburger will turn out to be just as good. Preheat the skillet well and place the cutlet on top of it. Roast it on one side, patiently waiting for the bottom to “grip” firmly. The cutlet should be turned over the minimum number of times, therefore, after frying it on one side, turn it over to the other and wait until it is ready.
Step 4
Next, create your American burger. On one of the halves of the bun, greased with hot mustard, put a leaf of lettuce, on top of an onion ring, a circle of tomato and a slice of pickled cucumber. You can lightly grease a leaf of lettuce with mayonnaise or Thousand Islands sauce. Now it's the turn of the cutlets and the second half of the bun. The burger is ready.
