Pão de queijo (pão de queijo - literally translated from Portuguese means “cheese bread”) is an incredibly popular dish in Brazil, which is sold there in any supermarket. It is a small cheese ball made from tapioca.
It is necessary
- - milk - 1 glass;
- - tapioca - half a glass;
- - vegetable oil - half a glass;
- - egg - 2 pieces;
- - mozzarella cheese - 250 grams;
- - grated parmesan (or other hard cheese) - half a glass;
- - salt to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Pour milk into a saucepan or saucepan, add butter and bring to a boil over low heat (do not boil, remove from heat immediately). Add tapioca, stir first with a fork, then with a mixer, until the dough is smooth. It is better to use special attachments for the dough. All this must be done quickly, before the mixture has time to cool.
Step 2
Grate mozzarella balls on a coarse grater. Add the grated mozzarella and parmesan to the dough, squeeze out with your hands. Wait for the dough to cool completely before adding the eggs.
Step 3
Break eggs into a separate bowl, mix with a fork. Add to dough, mix again using a mixer. The dough should get a little sticky.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to a temperature of 180-200 degrees. Put parchment on a baking sheet for baking. Form balls from the dough (you can do this either with a special spoon or with your hands, then the buns will not be in such a regular shape). Place on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake for about 30 minutes. The dish is good both hot and cold.
