Cocktails can be composed of the most unexpected elements. One of the classic ingredients of these drinks is chicken and quail eggs. Oyster and flip cocktails are prepared with them - both have many varieties for every taste.
Flip cocktails
Flip is a cocktail that contains an egg, syrup and spirits. It is not difficult to prepare delicious mixtures - they are whipped in a shaker or mixer, and served in a tall glass with a straw. Use chicken or quail eggs. Since the latter are smaller, 2 pieces may be needed per serving. Flips do not require special decor - most often they are sprinkled with grated chocolate, powdered sugar or chopped nutmeg.
There are also non-alcoholic flips prepared on the basis of milk, cream, grape, citrus or pomegranate juice.
Try a cognac and port cocktail. The drink turns out to be quite sweet and is served as a digestif. You will need:
- 50 ml of cognac or brandy;
- 50 ml red port;
- 1 teaspoon of sugar syrup;
- 2 quail eggs;
- grated nutmeg.
Pour brandy and port into a shaker, add eggs and sugar syrup. Whisk the mixture until smooth, pour into a chilled glass and sprinkle with grated nutmeg.
If desired, you can pour some finely crushed ice into the glass.
Flips are very tasty with the addition of fruit syrups. Combine the sweet strawberry flavor with sour lemon and tart chocolate. You will need:
- 50 ml of dark rum;
- 50 ml of strawberry liqueur;
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice;
- 2 quail eggs;
- 0.5 teaspoon of grated dark chocolate.
Squeeze lemon juice, grate chocolate on a fine grater. In a shaker, combine liquor and rum, add eggs and lemon juice. Whisk the mixture, pour into a chilled glass and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
Delicious and effective: oyster cocktails
Oyster cocktails get their name from their resemblance to an oyster. Their indispensable component is a whole yolk. When preparing it, it is important not to puncture it, otherwise the drink will be spoiled. Oyster cocktails are an excellent aperitif. They contain spices and have a rather pungent and spicy taste that stimulates the appetite.
Oyster is drunk in one gulp, so it should be served in a cocktail glass. Ice is not added to the drink, but the container for the drink is cooled in advance.
The classic version is an oyster with cognac, herbs and tomato juice. You will need:
- 30 ml of cognac;
- 1 quail egg;
- 1 teaspoon of hot tomato sauce;
- parsley greens;
- vinegar;
- salt;
- freshly ground black pepper.
Carefully separate the egg white from the yolk. Whisk the protein, cognac, sauce, salt and pepper in a shaker and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Use a spoon to gently place the yolk in the glass and sprinkle with vinegar. Garnish with fresh parsley leaves and serve immediately.
Oyster can also be made from gin. Add sweetish ketchup and spicy celery to it. You will need:

- 1 teaspoon of ketchup;
- 1 quail egg;
- 0.25 teaspoon of freshly grated horseradish;
- celery greens;
