Step 1

The original French apple tart recipe contains butter, which can be easily replaced with vegetable oil. Also, egg yolk was added to make the tart in the original recipe. We will simply exclude it, and to add a yellow color to the dough, add a quarter teaspoon of ground turmeric, but this is not necessary either, since after the baking is ready, the color of the dough will be light brown, regardless of whether turmeric is added or not.

Step 2

Mix wheat flour with salt, soda, vanilla, turmeric and sugar. Pour vegetable oil into the mixture, mix and gradually, stirring, pour in very cold water on a spoon. The dough should not crumble and stratify, it should be moderately greasy and in no case spread. Knead the dough well and leave it on the table under the bowl for half an hour.

Step 3

Meanwhile, wash and dry the apples, peel and cores and cut into thin slices.

Roll the finished dough thinly into a circle. The thickness of the bed will be approximately 2-3 mm. Attention: the number of products is focused on a round shape with a diameter of 24-26 centimeters. Put the dough into a mold, form sides, press the dough along the bottom of the mold with your hands.

Step 4

Place apples on top of the dough. Sprinkle with sugar on top. Put in a hot oven preheated to 200-220 degrees.

Bake, depending on the variety of apples, from 40 minutes. The apples should be soft.

Cool the finished tart completely, transfer to a dish, cut into portions and serve with tea.
