Vareniki is a famous Ukrainian dish. It is made with different fillings: different berries, cabbage, potatoes and others. For breakfast or afternoon tea, this is one of the best options.
Simple blueberry dumplings
To prepare this dish, the following products are required:
- 530 g of aromatic frozen blueberries;
- 530 g flour;
- 280 ml of water;
- 2 eggs;
- salt, sugar according to your taste.
Prepare the dough. In a small bowl, combine eggs, flour, water and a little salt. Then knead the dough, divide it into 2 balls, roll them into a "sausage". Cut it into several pieces and roll them into pancakes. Take frozen blueberries from the refrigerator. Put blueberries and a teaspoon of sugar in each pancake you get. Boil water, salt, add a little granulated sugar. Throw the dumplings one at a time when they start to float - cook them for 3 minutes and turn them off.
Serve the dish with sour cream.
Dumplings with blueberries and syrup
The following products are required for cooking:
- 520 g blueberries;
- 3 tbsp. flour;
- 1 tbsp. water;
- sugar, salt according to your taste.
Take up the preparation of the dough. Sift flour into a deep plate, add salt, mix. Make a small hole in the flour, add a little water and more flour there. Then knead the dough well and refrigerate for an hour. In a separate bowl, stir the blueberries with sugar to let the juice flow, then drain it into a separate bowl. Take out the dough, roll it into a thin layer and make circles with a glass. Gently place the filling in them and mold the dumplings, carefully pinch the edges. Cook the dumplings until cooked through. From the resulting juice, make a syrup (add hot water and granulated sugar to it) and serve with a ready-made dish.
Dumplings with blueberries in a double boiler
To prepare dumplings, products are required:
- 220 ml of kefir;
- 2 eggs;
- 2, 5 tbsp. flour;
- 320 g blueberries;
- 2 tbsp. starch;
- 1 tsp soda;
- 30 g butter;
- 4 tablespoons Sahara;
- salt according to your taste.
To prepare the dough, do the following. Combine eggs, kefir, soda and flour in a bowl, add a little salt. Stir everything and knead the dough. Then roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3 mm. Take a glass and make dumplings for them.
Prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, combine the starch, blueberries and granulated sugar. Put a little filling in the resulting blanks, form the dumplings. Then place them on two levels of the steamer. The first tier will contain approximately 5 pieces. Pour water (hot from a kettle) into a double boiler and set the time for 15 minutes. After the time has elapsed, place the dish and serve.
