Cappuccino is one of the most delicious and popular drinks in any coffee shop. However, it can also be prepared at home. Surprise your family and friends with our signature homemade cappuccino with high milk froth. But before calling guests, practice whipping this foam. A couple of liters of milk, a few lessons - and you will succeed.
It is necessary
- - full fat milk or cream;
- - coffee machine;
- - metal ladle or jug;
- - hand mixer;
- - a whisk for beating.
Instructions
Step 1
For high-quality milk froth, purchase good, high-fat milk. Professional baristas assure that the fatter it is, the better the cappuccino will turn out. You can experiment by mixing milk and cream, or using pure cream for whipping.
Step 2
The easiest way to prepare milk froth is with a coffee machine. It is not at all necessary to purchase a machine with a cappuccino function - any espresso coffee maker with a steam pipe can cope with this. Turn the steam on briefly before frothing milk to remove any remaining water from the tube.
Step 3
Pour cold milk or cream into a tall ladle or wide-necked metal pitcher. Tilt it over and place it under the nozzle of the steam wand. Turn on the steam, gradually increasing its power. The whipping process should take place at the very surface of the milk. Do not immerse the spout too deeply, otherwise the milk will boil and the foam will not come out. Get ready for the first couple of servings to be unsuccessful. Try again - sooner or later everything will work out.
Step 4
Prepare coffee by the time the milk froth is whipped. Place a cap of milk froth quickly and neatly on top of the drink and serve immediately. Before serving, evaluate the density of the foam - if the sugar grains placed on its surface do not sink, you will have a real cappuccino.
Step 5
If you don't have a coffee maker, but you want a cappuccino, prepare the froth using a hand mixer. Pour milk into a tall metal ladle or narrow saucepan. Place the ladle on the stove, turn it on and begin to beat the milk with a mixer, holding it near the surface. Make sure that the milk does not boil. Turn on the mixer at maximum speed. As soon as a thick foam appears, remove the ladle from the heat and spread the foam into cups.
Step 6
The slowest way is to whip the milk froth by hand. It is better to use cream for this operation. Pour a small amount into a wide bowl and put it in a water bath - this way the cream will heat up gradually and will not have time to boil. Begin to beat them with a metal whisk, working as quickly as possible. The result should be a dense foam. If you made coffee in cezve, strain it, pour into cups, top with creamy froth and sprinkle with cinnamon.
