A wonderful Irish dish to your table!
It is necessary
- For 2 servings:
- - 4 slices of white bread;
- - 40 g of butter;
- - 60-70 g of raisins;
- - 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg;
- - 75 g of sugar;
- - 1 large egg;
- - 150 ml of cream;
- - 225 ml of milk;
- - 0.5 tsp vanilla extract;
- - "Demerara" sugar for sprinkling.
- For the sauce:
- - 150 g butter;
- - 55 g of sugar;
- - 1 small egg;
- - 1, 5 tbsp. whiskey.
Instructions
Step 1
Get the oil out of the refrigerator in advance: we need it softened. Cut off the crusts from the bread. Butter 2 slices of bread on one side.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Put 2 slices of bread without butter in a mold. Sprinkle on top with half a tablespoon of sugar, nutmeg and raisins. Cover with 2 slices of bread, butter side down. Sprinkle with half a spoonful of sugar and a pinch of nutmeg.
Step 3
Use a blender to beat eggs with cream, milk, remaining sugar and vanilla. Pour the contents of the blender bowl onto the bread, sprinkle with brown sugar "Demerara" (it has a caramel crust) if desired and send to the oven for about an hour: the bread should absorb all the liquid and brown.
Step 4
For the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, add sugar and wait until it is completely dissolved. Then remove the saucepan from the burner and use a mixer to beat the egg into its contents. Add whiskey and beat again. Serve the pudding on heated bowls, drizzle with hot whiskey sauce.
