Fragrant orange-cranberry bread with a slight sourness is doomed to success. It goes well with milk, coffee or a cup of aromatic strong tea. Blush baked goods will become a worthy decoration of the festive table for Christmas or New Year.
It is necessary
- For bread:
- - 1 ½ cups flour;
- - ½ teaspoon of salt;
- - 1 teaspoon baking powder;
- - 1 cup of sugar;
- - peel of 1 orange;
- - ¾ glasses of sour cream;
- - ½ glass of vegetable oil;
- - 2 eggs;
- - a pinch of vanilla;
- - 1 cup fresh or thawed cranberries.
- For glaze:
- - 1 glass of powdered sugar;
- - 2 teaspoons of orange juice;
- - 1 teaspoon of chopped orange peel.
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Cover the baking dish with wax paper. To make the paper better adhere to the form, it can be greased with a small amount of vegetable oil. Grind the orange peel in a food processor.
Step 2
In a large container, mix flour, salt, baking powder. In a small container we combine sugar, orange peel, rub the mass with our hands until essential oils are released, giving a pleasant citrus aroma. We combine the contents of both containers, mix, set aside.
Step 3
In a medium-sized container, mix sour cream, vegetable oil, orange juice, vanilla.
Step 4
Combine and mix dry and wet all ingredients until smooth. Pour the dough into a prepared mold. Bake the bread for 70-75 minutes until golden brown. We check the readiness with a toothpick.
Step 5
We take the pastries out of the oven and place them on the stove to cool them a little. This will take 7-10 minutes. While the bread is cooling, prepare the icing. To do this, mix the powdered sugar, orange juice and zest in a mixer. You should get a homogeneous mass. Pour the resulting liquid on the bread. The glaze will harden in 10-20 minutes. The exact time depends on the room temperature. After that we cut the bread into portions and serve.
