The season of pumpkin is in full swing - a versatile product from which you can prepare a full-fledged three-course dinner, including the first, second and drink, and dessert. One of the most unusual, but very bright, tasty and healthy desserts is pumpkin jelly.

It is necessary

  • - pumpkin - 200 g
  • - water - 700 ml
  • - ground cinnamon and sugar - to taste
  • - potato starch - 6 tablespoons

Instructions

Step 1

To make pumpkin jelly, we need a cake. We get it by crushing the pumpkin and squeezing the juice. Grind the pumpkin either in a juicer or grate it on the finest grater. Then we squeeze out the juice using cheesecloth. The juicer does it all. We do not need the juice obtained in the process of extracting oil cake in full. Therefore, we will immediately pour 150 ml of juice into a separate cup, and the rest can be drunk or used to make pumpkin jelly, replacing an equal volume of water with juice.

Step 2

Put the cake in a saucepan, add hot water, add sugar and cinnamon. Mix everything thoroughly so that the sugar dissolves. Put a saucepan with this mixture on high heat and bring to a boil. Immediately remove the saucepan from the heat and strain using a fine sieve or cheesecloth.

Step 3

Now mix pumpkin juice with potato starch and pour this mixture into hot pumpkin broth. Return the saucepan to the fire and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly with a whisk or spoon.

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Now you need to let the jelly cool down a little and pour it into the bowls. Let the jelly be completely cooled and you can serve it as a dessert.

In such a jelly during the cooking process, you can add a little fresh grated orange or lemon zest to revive the taste of the jelly with a light citrus aroma.
