Smetannik cake is one of the most popular desserts that can be easily prepared at home. If you are expecting guests, then such an easy-to-prepare and very tasty cake will certainly delight your loved ones.
It is necessary
- For cakes:
- - chicken eggs - 3 pcs.;
- - sugar - 180 g;
- - flour - 300 g;
- - sour cream with a fat content of 15% - 300 ml;
- - cocoa powder - 2 tbsp. l.;
- - baking powder - 1 tbsp. l.;
- - vanillin;
- - butter for lubrication - two pieces of 5 g.
- For the cream:
- - sour cream with a fat content of 25% - 750 g;
- - sugar - 180 g;
- - vanillin - 1 sachet.
- For decoration:
- - dark chocolate - 30 g;
- - walnuts - 1/3 cup.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, we will need to prepare the dough for the cakes. Whisk the eggs and sugar in a large bowl. It is most convenient to beat with a mixer for about 10 minutes at maximum speed until a thick foam forms. Then add sour cream and stir.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and vanillin. Add this mixture to the egg and sour cream mass in portions. Stir gently with a spoon or spatula. It is better not to use a mixer at this stage so that the dough turns out to be light and airy.
Step 3
Turn on the oven, setting the temperature to 180 degrees. While it is heating, grease a baking dish with butter and pour half of the dough into it. Bake the first crust in a preheated oven for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Pour cocoa powder into the remaining half of the dough and mix gently. When the first cake is baked, take it out of the mold and place it on a plate. Grease the mold again with butter, pour the chocolate dough into it and bake the cake in the oven for 15 minutes.
Step 5
While the cakes are cooling down, it's time to make sour cream. Whisk cold sour cream from the refrigerator with sugar and vanilla until all the sugar grains are dissolved. Put the cream in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to harden.
Step 6
Cut each cake lengthwise into two parts. We begin to collect our cake. Take a light cake, coat it with sour cream. Top with chocolate crust. Also coat it with cream, cover with a light cake. Spread again and finish assembling the cake by covering with the last chocolate crust. At the end, generously grease the top and sides of the cake with cream and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours, or even better overnight.
Step 7
Grate the chocolate, turning it into shavings. Pound the walnuts in a mortar or chop finely with a knife. Garnish the Smetannik with chocolate chips and crushed nuts before serving.
