In traditional Dutch cuisine, you can find several varieties of stumpots. In a broad sense, this name unites dishes that are prepared on the basis of potatoes and various types of vegetables. The main distinguishing feature is that they are served on the table in the form of beautiful pies.

- - 2 kg of cabbage
- - 1.5 kg of potatoes
- - salt
- - milk or cream
- - 600 g of boiled sausage or sausages
- - ground black pepper
- - butter or margarine
- - vegetable or olive oil
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the boiled sausage (or sausages) into rings and fry in olive or vegetable oil. Be sure to wait until a brownish crust appears.
Step 2
Chop the cabbage finely. Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.
Step 3
Pour water into a saucepan, lightly salt and add spices if desired. Lay out the potatoes first and then the cabbage. Cook the ingredients until tender.
Step 4
Mash the cabbage and mashed potatoes with margarine, cream or milk. The consistency of the dish should be quite dense. This is one of the features of the stumppots.
Step 5
Put the mashed potatoes and cabbage in a deep container, place the pre-cooked boiled sausage (or sausages) on top. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
