It's hard for me to imagine Shrovetide without tender pancakes fried in butter. And on other days one cannot do without this healthy and tasty product. But unscrupulous manufacturers are trying to slip something completely incomprehensible to us instead of high-quality oil.
The reason why many, even the most famous manufacturers, counterfeit butter is obvious, because butter is an expensive product to manufacture. It takes about 20 liters of fresh milk to make just one kilogram of quality butter. Therefore, it is very profitable to use cheaper raw materials, and to sell the result at the price of a full-fledged product. How can you protect yourself from this kind of scam?
Having chosen the package of oil you like, carefully read everything that is indicated on the package. High-quality butter cannot be called "butter", "sandwich butter", "butter from the village", "our butter" and other interesting phrases.
Next, we study the composition. Of course, you cannot purchase a product in which thickeners, colorants, milk fat substitutes, vegetable oils, etc. are declared. At best, what contains vegetable oils can be called margarine, at worst - poison. High-quality butter should contain only cream (however, if the butter is salted, then, accordingly, salt).
The expiration date printed on the pack of butter should be approximately 1 month. A longer period should suggest that the manufacturer cheated and added vegetable fats or preservatives to his product.
The low price of butter is also a hidden indication of the manufacturer's dishonesty, because, as mentioned earlier, a large amount of milk is needed to produce butter.
remember that some manufacturers are tricky - they write "made according to GOST" or simply "GOST" in large letters on the front side of the oil pack, but they do not indicate a specific GOST. In such a situation, the word "GOST" can only be regarded as an advertisement for a product. If the oil is really made according to GOST, then the number and date of GOST should be indicated on the package, in the same place as the composition, production address, and manufacturer's name.
