Making egg rolls is pretty easy if you've ever made traditional rolls by wrapping them in nori. The dish can become both an original way of serving an omelet for breakfast, and an unusual snack on a festive table.

It is necessary

  • - 3 chicken eggs;
  • - 1 pack of soft cream cheese;
  • - a glass of round rice;
  • - soy sauce;
  • - filling (cucumber, avocado, lightly salted salmon, crab sticks, etc.);
  • - dry wasabi;
  • - water;
  • - a frying pan for pancakes or any other with a non-stick coating;
  • - wooden spatula;
  • - makisa (bamboo mat for rolling rolls).

Instructions

Step 1

To prepare an egg pancake, combine eggs, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and the same amount of water in a deep bowl. You need to stir until the moment when there are no noticeable inclusions of protein. Add a pinch of wasabi to it for spice.

Step 2

Pour some vegetable oil into the skillet and spread it thoroughly over the entire surface. Wait for the pan to heat up well. You can understand this when you bring your hand to the surface, and heat will go from it. Then reduce heat to medium. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet in a thin stream, spreading it out like pancake dough. The base for the roll should be fried for about a minute on each side, gently turning it over with a wooden spatula.

Step 3

Place the finished egg pancakes on a paper towel to absorb any remaining oil. While they cool down, you need to prepare the filling. It can be different: from vegetarian to traditional roll filling. All ingredients should be cut into medium strips.

Step 4

Rinse the rice for the filling so that the water is not cloudy. Then add one and a half cups of water to the saucepan, cover it with a lid and put on medium heat. After the water boils, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the liquid is completely absorbed. Remove rice from heat and let cool.

Step 5

While the rice is cooling, prepare a dressing for it. In a glass, combine three tablespoons of mirin or balsamic vinegar, a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of sugar. Pour this solution over the rice and stir it thoroughly.

Step 6

The bamboo rug must be wrapped with cling film or plastic bag, so that later it does not have to be washed from food residues. First place an egg pancake on the makisu, top with a thin layer of rice mixed with cheese. Then place the filling in the center and roll up.

Step 7

Cut the finished "sausages" with a sharp knife into 6-8 pieces. Serve cold rolls with soy sauce and wasabi.
