  • - vegetable oil - for frying;

  • - bread crumbs or bread crumbs - 1, 5 cups;
  • - mozzarella (pieces 10 cm long, 1 cm wide) - 12 pcs.
  • For the sauce:
  • - salt - 1/2 tablespoon;
  • - finely chopped onion - 2 tablespoons;
  • - chopped basil - 2 tablespoons;
  • - honey - 1.5 tsp;
  • - olive oil - 1 tsp;
  • - lemon juice - 2 tablespoons;
  • - sour cream - 1/4 cup;
  • - kefir - 1/3 cup.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the cheese into 1 centimeter wide and 10 centimeter long slices. Pour the breadcrumbs and flour into separate bowls. Add Italian spices, pepper, salt to the breading. Mix everything well. Break the eggs into a small saucepan, beat them well.

Step 2

Dip each cheese sliced well in flour. Shake off excess flour, dip each product in eggs, then immediately in crackers. Make sure that the entire surface of the sticks is thickly covered with breading. Dip again in eggs, then again in breading. Place the plate with prepared chopsticks in the freezer for 2 hours.

Step 3

While the sticks are freezing, start making the sauce. Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and make a homogeneous mass out of them. Cover with a lid, place in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Pour an impressive amount of oil into a heavy-bottomed skillet. Heat it vigorously. As a result, you get a kind of deep fat. Be careful, oil may splash, follow safety precautions. Cook each stick for 5 minutes, then place on a paper towel.

Step 5

Remove the sauce from the fridge and serve the delicious mozzarella cheese sticks with it. Such an appetizer is well suited for evening friendly gatherings, receiving guests, watching your favorite show, etc.
