Try making a simple shortbread cake. This is not a very common version of the well-known honey cake.
It is necessary
- - 2 tablespoons honey;
- - 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda;
- - 2 eggs;
- - 100 gr. butter;
- - 3 glasses of flour;
- - 1/2 cup sugar;
- For the cream:
- - 500 gr. sour cream;
- - 1 cup of sugar;
- - 1 tbsp. brandy or wine.
Instructions
Step 1
Melt honey in a water bath. To do this, pour water into a wide container, put a narrower container inside, in which honey will dissolve. Bring water to a boil, wait until the honey warms up, pour soda into it, mix.
Step 2
Remove containers from heat, cool honey. After that, the ingredients for the cake must be mixed: honey, beaten eggs, sugar, butter. Then add a portion of flour to this mass and prepare shortbread dough.
Step 3
Divide the resulting mass into 4 - 5 parts. Manually arrange the cakes and bake them in the oven at a temperature of 210 grams. The cakes need to be cooled, cut off the uneven edges, crumble the cake and put in the oven for a couple of minutes to dry.
Step 4
Put cold sour cream in a saucepan, add sugar, beat with a whisk or mixer. Add vanillin, cognac or wine, stir again. Smear the cakes with cream. Grease the top of the cake with cream and sprinkle with crumbs. Leave the cake in the room for 4 hours, so that the dough is soaked in cream. Then put away in a cold place overnight.
